Judgments: grasshoppers, fire, plumbline

1. Instruction from the Lord

  • God is active in dealing with individuals and nations
  • He has many different ways in dealing with individuals and nations

2. Intercession from the Prophet

  • Prayer may delay God’s judgment.
  • Prayer may change the severity of God’s judgment.
  • Prayer must include prayer for the offender.

3. Indictment against the Wickedness of the People

  • God judges people perfectly.
  • God judges people purposefully.
