Dear FBT Family and Friends,
Having been born into the ministry of Fairfax Baptist Temple, I have witnessed first-hand the continued blessings of God and all that He has done through the faith and generosity of His people. As we pursue His vision for our church, I challenge you to join in the effort to EXPAND THE LIGHT of the gospel of Christ – made possible by your commitment and contributions to this next step of growth for FBT.
Along with our church leadership, my goal and desire is to see this project completed by 2030 (which also marks 30 years at our current location). This VISION30 campaign is a call to step forward in your efforts to help provide more resources for FBT to have an even greater impact in Fairfax County and the Washington, D.C metropolitan area. It is exciting to be involved in the work of the Lord. Please pray about what God would have you do to increase our ministry potential here in our community, and ultimately, around the world.
If you have been part of the FBT family over the years, would you join me in this vision of faith to EXPAND THE LIGHT? From a small group of six to a large and diverse congregation, God has blessed our church for multiple generations. Having reached pinnacles in our ministry, my prayer is that they will not become a plateau for the next generation. Will you consider what God is asking of each of us as His stewards? Would you stay especially close to FBT these next few months as we determine our response to this challenge? Will you join me in prayer as we ask our Heavenly Father to guide us in our efforts together? Don't miss this monumental season at FBT!
Serving Him, Pastor Todd Abbey
Calling
Fairfax Baptist Temple was founded in October of 1970, with a small group of six people attending the first service. From those early days to the present, the purpose of a fundamental, Bible-preaching church in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area has been to Exalt the Lord, Evangelize the World, and Edify the Learner.

As God has continued to bless the ministry of FBT, the growing demands on our facilities are evident and we recognize there are needs in several areas:
- Additional Multi-Use Space - small to medium size events, cafeteria, youth meetings, etc.
- Modern Commercial-Style Kitchen - meal prep/food service located at event space for convenience and efficiency
- Dedicated Teen/Youth Space - room(s) for growing FBT’s next generation
- Improved Access for All - portico providing protection from weather conditions during drop-off/pick-up
- Increased Ministry Space - larger rooms for music/drama rehearsals and other activities or events
- Other Support Spaces - additional reception area, offices, improved campus security
Courage
Each of the stages of growth through the years at FBT have been marked with courageous faith by the members stepping forward with generosity and a belief in the kingdom of God. Through faith and with God's blessings, new levels of effectiveness in ministry were reached. By God's grace and goodness, FBT currently has zero debt—a tremendous advantage as we approach this next stage.
Note: The Vision30 Project will rely on financing, but it will enable and increase ministry expansion and school enrollment that will generate higher revenues.

Course
Every family and individual who calls FBT home or has been blessed through the ministry of this church, is being asked to prayerfully consider making a sacrificial financial commitment over a 2-year period by giving ABOVE and BEYOND your regular giving. The goals are high, but we know that with God ALL things are possible--and without faith it is impossible to please Him.
Pray and Give in 3 Ways
Courageously
Consider contributing the largest one-time gift you have ever given to FBT.
Consistently
Pray about pledging an extra monthly gift, in addition to your regular tithe, for the next 25 months
Creatively
Consider non-cash gifts of items you own, such as cars, real estate, stocks, jewelry, and other assets

FAQ
1. When will construction begin and how long will it take?
If approved in the final church vote, construction could begin as early as May 2026. The project is expected to take about 12–14 months, though exact timing will depend on permits, weather, and contractor schedules.
2. Will church and school ministries be disrupted during construction?
Ministry continuity is a top priority. While there may be temporary adjustments, construction will be phased to minimize disruptions to worship services, school, and weekly ministries.
3. What happens if giving falls short?
The plan is flexible. If pledges or receipts fall short, elements can be phased, delayed, or adjusted to stay within our financial boundaries. We will not move forward without unity, wisdom, and congregational approval.
